Vocabulary words 1st quarter continued





Panacea: A remedy for all diseases, evils, or difficulties; a cure-all.



Sanguine- cheerfully optimistic



Buoyant: able to keep something afloat



neonatal- of or pertaining to newborn children



canid:any animal of the dog family Canidae, including the wolves,jackals, hyenas, coyotes, foxes, and domestic dogs.


Lodgepole Pine: A straight-trunked pine tree that grows in the mountains of western North America



Inundation: Flood; the rise of a body of water



Sequester: (verb) isolate or hide away



Concomitant (noun): a phenomenon that naturally accompanies or follows something.


Extrapolate -to infer (an unknown) from something that is known; conjecture



Poaching: 1.Illegally hunt or catch (game or fish) on land that is not one's own or is under official protection



electrolysis - the decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen gas through the use of an electric current



hydraulic fracturing (fracking) - the propagation of fractures in a rock layer caused by the presence of a pressurized fluid in order to release petroleum, natural gas, coal seam gas, or other substances for extraction



Terpene: any of a large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants
