The AP Environmental Science class at Smithtown HS West covers a unit on Ornithology after the AP Exam. This year, our unit was greatly enriched by the addition of beautiful new binoculars. Eagle Optics, optical outfitters located in Wisconsin, have a Matching Donation Program. For every pair of binoculars that the school purchased, Eagle Optics matched with another pair. Every student in the class learned how to use their binoculars and got great looks at the birds on campus. Hopefully this experience will result in a life long interest in birding and the outdoors.
